Abstract

Los Scelidotheriinae son endémicos de América del Sur, se registran en Argentina desde el “Friasense” s.l. (Mioceno medio) al Lujanense (Pleistoceno tardío-Holoceno temprano). El objetivo del presente trabajo es dar a conocer y discutir las implicancias bioestratigráficas del primer registro de Proscelidodon patrius para Formación Chapadmalal de Mar del Plata, provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dicho espécimen se encuentra representado por un cráneo y mandíbula parcial en buen estado de preservación de un individuo juvenil.
