DOS NUEVAS ESPECIES DE ASTEROTHECA DE LA SERIE TRIASICA "EL TRANQUILO'', PROV. DE SANTA CRUZ
Abstract
In the present paper two new species of Asterotheca are described: A. falcata and A. menendezii. The specimens on which these species are based, have been collected. in·Triassic sediments ofEl Tranquilo Series, Santa Cruz. Province, Argentina. The affinities of these new. species are discussed, and comparisons with other Triassic Asterothecae are made. Also, some consideratio.ns about the validity of A. truempyi Frenguelli and A. fuch- sii. (Schimper) S. Laubach are included. A. truempyi is reestablished as a valid species, after the study upon its type specimens. Thus, there are four Triassic species of Asterotheca so far described in Argentina.Downloads
