Se presenta la descripcio?n de los primeros cefalo?podos ortoc6nicos del ge?nero Dolorthoceras del Uruguay y Argentina. Su edad, basada en los goniatites con los cuales se encuentran asociados, es del Carbo?nico superior (Pensilvaniano medio).
