Abstract

Five microfloral associations of Bayocian age from two boreholes in Neuquén Province are analized. In four of them, the pollen genus Classopollis is dominant; in one, the genus Araucariacites. Frequency of trilete spores ranges from 15 to 25%. Bisaccate and monocolpate pollen is rare. The microfloras are compared with other ones of the Argentine Mesozoic and with Jurassic microfloras of other gondwanic regions. They are also compared with the macroflora known from the area studied. The paper closes with paleoecological and paleoclimatological considerations.
