Abstract

The genus Favrella R. Douvillé has been recorded from Southern Patagonia (Argentina and Ch.le ), Neuquen and Mendoza Provinces (Argentina), Santiago Province (Chile), Perú, Colombia, México, and U.S.S.R. Its supposed restriction to Southern Patagonia is doubtful. The age of Faurella is probably Haurerivian-Barremian; ev.dence for its suggested Aptian age is lacking. Patagoniceras Wetzel, 1960, is a probable junior subjective synonym of Favrella. No regional stratigraphic break between Berriasian and Aptian is evident in Southern Patagonia.
