ZONOTRICHIA ROBUSTA N. SP. (AVES, PASSERIFORMES, EMBERIZIDAE) DEL PLEISTOCENO MEDIO DE LA PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AIRES
Abstract
A new species of Zonotricbia, Z. robusta, is here described, based on a fragmentary beak which was found in sediments of the Middle Pleistocene (Ensenadan Age) of the S.E. of Buenos Aires Province. From the study of this species it is concluded that: 1) Zonotrichia can be of nectropical origin and 2) the nearctic species may have differentiated fram neotrapical forms.Downloads
