MEGASPORAS DEL CRETACICO DE PATAGONIA I. ULTRAARQUITECTURA DE LA PARED MEGASPORAL EN HUGHESISPORITES PATAGONICUS ARCHANG y HORSTISPORITES FERUGLIOI ARCHANG
Abstract
The ultraarchitecture of the wall of two megaspores described by Archangelsky from the Lower Cretaceous of Patagonia, is studied in the scanning electron microscope. A morphological redescription of both megaspores is also provided. The architecture of the wall of Hughesisporites patagonicus shows that it may be related to the living genus Selaginella. No relation was found between the structure of the wall of Horstisporites feruglioi and those present in others fossil or living megaspores.Downloads
