AbstractA new genus of Ostracoda, named Leanzacytbere gen. nov., wíth L. leanzai sp. nov., as type species, is described in this paper. In addition, a new species of the same genus, named L. trahuncuraensis sp. nov., is described. The referred ostracodes were found while processing surface sarnples from Cerrito de la Ventana, Trahuncurá area, in the west central part of Neuquén Province, Argentine Republic. The Ostracoda are stratigraphically situated in the Berriasian portion of the Vaca Muerta Forrnation, which has been dated (H. Leanza, 1972) on account of the associated ammonite fauna it contains.
