CONTRIBUICÃO A PALINOLOGIA DA FORMACÃO IRATI (PERMIANO) RIO GRANDE DO SUL, BRASIL
Abstract
In this paper the microspore association from the Iratí Formation (of Permian age) frorn the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, is described. Sixteen species, belonging to the genera Punctatisporites, Convolutispora, Cordaitina, Potonieis porites, Alisporites, Piceapollenites, Limitisporites, Striatoabietites, Lueceisporites, Taeniosporites, Protohaploxypinus and Vittatina are described. Four are new: Conuoluttspora pintoi, Protobaploxypinus labratus, Piceapollenites archangelskyi and Lueckisporites iratiensis. The frequency of the main groups is presented, on the base of surface and subsurface samples, and some chronological conclusions are also included. The association is compared with the most similar found in Brasil, Argentina, Bolivia, India, South África, Australia and Antartida. Brief stratigraphic, palaeofloristic, palaecologic and palaeoclimatic conclusions are included.Downloads
