UNA NUEVA FAUNA DE TRILOBITES TREMADOCIANOS DE LA PROVINCIA DE JUJUY (SIERRA DE CAJAS), ARGENTINA
Abstract
A new Lower Ordovician trilobite fauna found in the lower member of Santa Rosita Formation is described. New taxa include the genera Pseudotalbotina (Lonchocephalidae? ), Aguilarella (Longanellidae) and Paraplicatolina (Olenidae, Plicatolininae). Also new are 7 species that include Buttsia australis (Catillicephalidae), Pemphigaspis perforata (Catillicephalidae), Dasometopus marginatus (Conocoryphidae), Protopeltura? vizcachensis (Olenidae, Pelturinae), Asaphellus convexus (Asaphidae), Onychopyge harringtoni (Ceratopygidae) and Pharostomina tenuisulcata (Calyrnenidae). A mixture in the Santa Rosita Formation of genera that occur both in the Atlantic and Pacific Province provides new data for the correlation. Parabolina argentina fauna of Argentina aproximately correlate with Trempeleuan Stage of North America, and the Parabolina-Kainella boundary correlate with the Saukia-Symphysurina boundary in the United States.Downloads
