Abstract

The skull and jaws of a new genus and species of Prosauropoda from the Los Colorados formation of northern Argentina is briefly described and compared. Coloradia brevis is related to Plateosaurus - Lufengosaurus but with shorter snout, preorbital opening partially below the orbit, short nasal s, elongated frontals, and the occiput partially exposed in the dorsal view. Coloradia brevis was discovered in the same sedimentary enviroment than the Melanorosaurids, but from a lower leve!. It is suggested that each family of Prosauropoda did not occupy a particular and different habitat.
