Abstract
OSTHACODES OF THE CARMEN SILVA FORMATION (EAHLY MIOCENE), ISLA GHANDE DE TIERRA DEL FUEGO, ARGENTINA.PART 1: LOWER MEMBER. - An ostracode fauna from the type locality of Carmen Silva Formation is descríbed. One species is new: Argenticytheretta carmensilvaensis. The assemblage is generalIy well preserved; it has low eliversity (nine genera and níne species) and it is poor in number of specimens. The descríbed forms are medium size most of them are smooth, punctate or elelicately ornamenteel. This fauna seems to be unrelated to other Miocene microfaunas from Argentina wíth the exception of an assemblage founel in Patagonia Formation from Chuhut province.Downloads
