PRESENCIA DE PODOZAMITES ELONGATUS (MORRIS) FEISTMANTEL ( CONIFERALES, PODOZAMITACEAE) EN LA TAFOFLORA DE ALICURA (PROVINCIA DE NEUQUEN, ARGENTINA)
Abstract
Occunnence of Podozamites elongatus (Morris) Feistmantel (Coniferales, Podozalamites) in the Alicurá Taphoflora (Province of Neuquén, Argentina. Severa specimens of Podozamites elongatus (Morris) Feistmantel from the fos siliferous beds of Alicmá ( Neuquén, Argentina) are here described. This species, which is typically Triassic in Condwanaland, is here recorded for the fir st time from deposits referred to early Lower Jurassic. This occurrence adds new evidence to the hypothesis that the Alicmá Taphoflora is the oldest .furassic flora in Argentina , containing elements that show a transitional Triassic-Jurassic appearance.Downloads
