BIVALVOS DEL ORDOVICICO MEDIO- TARDIO DE LA PRECORDILLERA DE SAN JUAN (ARGENTINA)
Abstract
Five distinct stratigraphic units in the San Juan Precordillera have yielded a diverse fauna of bivalves which are described and Illustrated in this paper. These are the Las Plantas, Trapiche, La Cantera and Don Braulio formations and an unnamed sequence which crops out in the Cerro del Fuerte. The age of these units ranges from Llandeilian to Ashgillian. The bivalves recognized are Praenucula? sp., Palaeoconcha sp., Costaledopsis [uertensis n. gen., n. sp., Palaeoneilo sp., Cleionychia ? sp., Modiolopsis cuyana n. sp., Modiolopsis inflata n. sp., Colpomya? sp., Witheavesia sp., Protomya? sp. and an unidentificable species belonging probably to the Cycloconchidae.Downloads
