LOS COLUBRIDAE (REPTILIA: SERPENTES) DEL CHAPADMALALENSE y UQUIENSE (PLIOCENO TARDIO-PLEISTOCENO TEMPRANO?) DE LA PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
Abstract
Specimens of Colubridae of Chapadmalalian and Uquian Age (Late Pliocene-Early Pleistocene?) from the Mar del Plata-Miramar area are reported and described. Two taxa detennined at a family level are recognized. The Uquian taxon is very similar to a colubrid species now living in Buenos Aires Province. These new records contribute 10 fillthe gap between extant South American colubrids and the previously know fossil taxa from the Pliocene (Montehermosan) and Miocene (Friasean and Santacrucian Ages).Downloads
