Abstract
SRIVASTAVAPOLLENITES EXOTICUS NOV. GEN. ET SP. FROM PEDRO LURO FORMATION (PALEOCENE) FROM BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE, ARGENTINA. Srivastapollenites exoticus, a new pollen genus and species from the Paleocene (Pedro Luro Formation) of Colorado Basin, Argentina is described and illustrated. Specimens have been recovered from Puerto Belgrano Nº 20 borehole from 807,37 to 825,65 meters below surface. They include parasyncolpate pollen grains with triangular amb, colpi with operculum colpi and suprastriate tectum. The microflora associated is dominated by species cited from other Paleocene localities of Argentina. The state characters of Globoconusa daubjergensis (foraminifer) confirms an Upper Danian age for the section.Downloads
