REWORKED PALYNOMORPHS IN THE UPPER CARBONIFEROUS SEDIMENTS AT ARAÇOIABA DA SERRA (ITARARÉ SUBGROUP, PARANÁ BASIN), STATE OF SAO PAULO, BRAZIL
Abstract
Late Devonian and Early Carboniferous palynomorphs reworked into the late Carboniferous of the Itararé Subgroup (Paraná Basin, Brazil) are: Punctatisporites solidus Hacquebard; Retusotriletes crassus Clayton el al.; Retusotriletes sp. cf. R. obliteratu s Chibrikova; Emphanisporites rotatus McGregor; Stenozonotriletes sp.; Grandispora conspicua (Playford) Playford; Grandispora brevispinosa Menéndez and Pothe de Baldis, and Gorgonisphaeridíum sp. These occur in core samples obtained fromthe Geomater well, south of Aracoiaba da Serra, Sáo Paulo State, Brazil. Criteria for recognizing reworked palynomorphs are discussed, mainly those pertinent to the present study. The local tectonic setting for such recycling is also discussed.Downloads
