NUEVOS RESTOS DE ODONTOPTERYGIA (AVES: PELECANIFORMES) DEL TERCIARIO TEMPRANO DE ANTÁRTIDA
Abstract
An articular fragment of lower jaw belonging to a Pseudodontornithidae, is described. It come from the late eocene-early oligocene sediments (La Meseta Formation) of the Vicecomodoro Marambio (Seymour) Island, Antartica. A probable mandibular fragment from the same procedence, is also described. These are two new reports for the Early Tertiaiy of Antartica. Previously, in the same ·sediments, was registered a rostral fragment of another Pseudodontornithidae; its size is aproximately twice as large as the one that should have corresponded to the one described above.Downloads
