Palinología de la Formación El Trampeadero (Carbonífero Superior), La Rioja, Argentina: significado bioestratigráfico
Abstract
Resumen. En este trabajo se describe una asociación paleopalinológica, relativamente bien preservada, proveniente de la Formación El Trampeadero (Carbonífero Superior, Cuenca Paganzo). La asociación está compuesta por elementos de origen continental (leños, cutículas, esporas, granos de polen y restos algales). Entre las esporas triletes se destacan la presencia de Apiculiretusisporavariornata (Menéndez y Azcuy) Menéndez y Azcuy, Ahrensisporitescristatus Playford y Powis, Anapiculatisporitesargentinensis Azcuy, Apiculatisporitesvariornatus di Pasquo etal., ConvolutisporamuriornataMenéndez, Cordylosporites sp. cf. C.asperdictyus (Playford y Helby) Dino y Playford, Cristatisporitesmenendezii (Menéndez y Azcuy) Playford, C.stellatus (Azcuy) Gutiérrez y Limarino, Psomosporadetecta Playford y Helby, Raistrickia sp. cf. R.accincta Playford y Helby, Reticulatisporites magnidictyus Playford y Helby, R.passapectus Ottone, Spinozonotrileteshirsutus Azcuy, Verrucosisporitespatelliformis (Menéndez) Gutiérrez y Césari. Dibolisporites disfacies Jones y Truswell es registrada por primera vez para la Cuenca Paganzo. Conforman parte de las asociaciones los granos de polen monosacados (Plicatipollenites spp., Cannanaropollis spp.) y bisecados (Alisporites sp., Limitisporites sp.). Teniendo en cuenta el rango cronoestratigráfico de las principales especies reconocidas en la Formación El Trampeadero, se puede proponer una edad carbonífera tardía (Namuriano tardío-Westphaliano) para la misma. La abundancia de palinomorfos relacionados a plantas con requerimientos higro e hidrófilas (Lycophyta, Filicopsidas) es coherente con el ambiente lacustre sugerido por las evidencias sedimentológicas. Abstract. PALYNOLOGY O FTHE EL TRAMPEADERO FORMATION (UPPER CARBONIFEROUS), LA RIOJA PROVINCE, ARGENTINA: A BIOSTRATIGRAPHIC APPROACH. A diverse and relatively well preserved palynological assemblage recovered from El Trampeadero Formation (Upper Carboniferous, Paganzo Basin) is here described. This assemblage is composed by elements of continental origin: woody particules, cuticules, spores, pollen grains and algae. The dominant spore species are Apiculiretusisporavariornata (Menéndez and Azcuy) Menéndez and Azcuy, Ahrensisporitescristatus Playford and Powis, Anapiculatisporitesargentinensis Azcuy, Apiculatisporitesvariornatus di Pasquo etal., ConvolutisporamuriornataMenéndez, Cordylosporites sp. cf. C.asperdictyus (Playford and Helby) Dino and Playford, Cristatisporitesmenendezii (Menéndez and Azcuy) Playford, C.stellatus (Azcuy) Gutiérrez and Limarino, Psomosporadetecta Playford and Helby, Raistrickia sp. cf. R. accincta Playford and Helby, Reticulatisporitesmagnidictyus Playford and Helby, R.passapectus Ottone, Spinozonotrileteshirsutus Azcuy, Verrucosisporitespatelliformis (Menéndez) Gutiérrez and Césari. Moreover, Dibolisporitesdisfacies Jones and Truswell was recorded for the first time for the Paganzo Basin. Monosaccate (Plicatipollenites spp., Cannanaropollis spp.) and bisaccate (Alisporites sp., Limitisporites sp.) pollen grains were also recognized for this unit. Considering the known chronostratigraphic ranges of some key species, a Late Carboniferous (late Namurian-Westphalian) age is here proposed for the El Trampeadero Formation. The abundance of palynomorphs with affinities to higro and hidrophitic plants (Lycophyta, Filicopsidas) agree with the lacustrine environment suggested by sedimentological evidences.Downloads
