Three of the species are known to occur in other taphofloras: Cicatricosisporites australiensis (Cookson) Potonié, C. hughesii Dettmann and C. cf. ethmos Delcourt and Sprumont. Four species are new: Cicatricosisporites ticoensis, C. baqueroensis, C. giganteus and C. annulatus.
