Nuevas huellas de Theropoda (Dinosauria: Saurischia) del Jurásico de Patagonia, Argentin
Abstract
Abstract. NEW THEROPODA (DINOSAURIA: SAURISCHIA) FOOTPRINTS FROM THE JURASSICOF PATAGONIA, ARGENTINA. A new ichnotaxon attributed to a theropod dinosaur from La Matilde Formation (Middle-Upper Jurassic of Santa Cruz Province, Argentina) is described and discussed. The footprint is composed of traces related with a bipedal track-maker, with step angle very wide, exhibiting a derived pedal anatomy with great reduction of digits II and IV. Casamiquelichnus navesorum ichnogen. et ichnosp. nov. consists of a deep, axially elongated footprint, bearing shallow marks corresponding to short and fragile lateral digits. The main characteristic that distinguishes this new ichnotaxon is the presence of thin, rectilinear grooves which are associated with the pedal marks and are interpreted as possible claw dragging marks.Downloads
